Classes
Fall I 2008
Schedule: TBD, please call
As French for children is a new program for us, please
call for more information about the classes that we will be offering
this year.
Group lessons are a fun, interactive way for children
to learn a second or third language. Our curriculum incorporates
music, movement, games, stories, and art. Our goal is to cultivate
a love of both the language and culture in your child. Our curriculum
is designed by New York State certified teachers. It is both educationally
sound and fun!
Classes for the older children are 45 minutes long
and for the younger children they are 30 minutes long. Classes typically
meet once a week. Of course, you can register your child for as
many weekly classes as you like. If you would like to register your
child for a second class during the week, he/she will receive a
10% discount on the second class. With the increased frequency,
you are certain to see your child's proficiency level improve. If
you would like to register 2 or more children for our language program,
the additional child(ren) will receive a 10% discount on classes.
Each class is centered around a theme, such as the
rain forest, a season, or parts of the body. In addition, Hispanic
culture is incorporated into the lessons as well as science, math,
history and social studies. Each class reinforces basic language
skills, such as using Spanish for talking about numbers, colors,
seasons, days of the week, and carrying out short conversations.
The beautiful thing about teaching a foreign language to young children,
is
that the teaching can be content based.
If the group classes will not fit into your schedule,
we would be happy to work with your child privately. The rate for
private children's classes is $40.00 per hour. Depending on your
child's age, a 30 minute-long class may be appropriate.
NEW THIS SESSION! Parents will be provided with an
English / French vocabulary list as well as a suggestions about
a French music CD to allow your child to practice at home. And,
we will have a public performance scheduled for February of 2009. Invite
your entire family to see what your child can sing or say in French.
