German Teachers

Franziska Bluemich

Fran holds a Bachelors Degree in Linguistics and Communications, Psychology and Educational Science from Aachen University, Germany.  She is currently working on her Master's in Education from SUNY at Albany.  Being a dual German/American citizen, Fran was raised bilingual growing up in Germany. She has done German/English translations in various fields such as Macromolecular Chemistry and worked as an interpreter at the World Championships in Bobsledding, Luge and Skeleton in Lake Placid last winter. Fran is currently teaching German classes for both children and adults in Malta and Colonie. 

Undine Giguere

Undine Giguere holds a Masters Degree in Special Ed and a PhD in Germanic Languages and Literatures. Since coming to the US in 1983, she has been teaching German to college students and in local enrichment programs. She is a native German speaker and is also proficient in English and French. We are very excited to welcome her aboard to teach German. She is offering classes for children or adults when she can find time away from her Siena College schedule. 

Hillen von Maltzahn

When Hillen is not training for her next World Competition in the pole vault, she loves to teach her native language, German.  We hope that she will soon be available to teach children and adults both of our locations in the near future.   Currently she is our number one German substitute teacher.
